Community Circle: Week of 1/31/23
Check out our Community Circle, which includes important announcements and information about academics and extracurriculars this week.
This project develops an annual exchange between Brooklyn Community Arts & Media High School (BCAM) with New Orleans-based art school and community organization The Black School (TBS). The exchange takes a targeted group of 10 students from each school with strong interests in, and an established track record around, the visual and/or performing arts, and has them travel to the sister city, i.e New Orleans and conversely Brooklyn/New York City for a connected, connective and multidimensional exchange experience. BCAM students travel to New Orleans in April, 2023 and participate in a 5-7 day intensive, hosted by The Black School. Later that term, in May, 2023, BCAM will host a group of Black School students in a reciprocal intensive. The exchange is framed around college and cultural exposure, activism oriented community inquiry, artistic development and, of course, building sister-city bridges.
